House Complex

On the Cycladic island of Paros, a residence of 280 sqm consists of two single-story dwellings developed in direct continuation to one another, forming a linear, cohesive structure. The architectural approach aims to maintain a unified massing, allowing the two homes to be perceived as a single residence. This unity is further reinforced by the presence of enclosed courtyards, framed with exposed stone walls that extend from the buildings and define private outdoor spaces. Each residence follows an identical layout: a central open-plan living space comprising a sitting area, kitchen, and WC, and three bedrooms—each with its own en-suite bathroom. The arrangement emphasizes privacy and comfort, with living and sleeping areas oriented towards the view, while auxiliary functions, such as parking spaces, are located near the northern entrance of the plot. Construction-wise, the structural system consists of reinforced concrete frames and local stone masonry. The exterior walls are coated in white plaster, while stonework remains exposed in the courtyards, plot boundaries, and parking zones, highlighting the materiality and blending harmoniously with the landscape. Water elements and pergolas are introduced as both functional and atmospheric components, contributing to the serene ambiance of the outdoor areas. The architectural language respects the vernacular character of the region, resulting in contemporary yet contextually integrated holiday residences that balances openness with privacy and tradition with modernity.

Στο κυκλαδικό τοπίο της Πάρου, σχεδιάστηκε κατοικία συνολικής επιφάνειας 280 τ.μ., αποτελούμενη από δύο ισόγειες μονάδες που αναπτύσσονται σε άμεση συνέχεια, σχηματίζοντας ένα γραμμικό, ενιαίο σύνολο. Η αρχιτεκτονική πρόθεση επικεντρώνεται στη διατήρηση ενός συνεκτικού όγκου, ώστε οι δύο κατοικίες να διαβάζονται ως μία. Η αίσθηση της ενότητας ενισχύεται από τις περίκλειστες αυλές, οι οποίες ορίζονται από ανεπίχριστα λιθόκτιστα τοιχία που επεκτείνονται από το κτίριο και διαμορφώνουν ιδιωτικούς εξωτερικούς χώρους. Κάθε κατοικία ακολουθεί την ίδια διαρρύθμιση: έναν ενιαίο χώρο διημέρευσης με καθιστικό, κουζίνα και WC, και τρία υπνοδωμάτια με δικά τους μπάνια. Οι κύριες λειτουργίες προσανατολίζονται προς τη θέα, διασφαλίζοντας ταυτόχρονα την ιδιωτικότητα των χρηστών, ενώ οι χώροι στάθμευσης τοποθετούνται κοντά στη βόρεια είσοδο του οικοπέδου. Η κατασκευή βασίζεται σε φέροντα οργανισμό από οπλισμένο σκυρόδεμα με πλήρωση από λιθοδομή. Οι εξωτερικές επιφάνειες καλύπτονται με λευκό επίχρισμα, εκτός από τις αυλές, την περίφραξη και τους χώρους στάθμευσης, όπου η λιθοδομή παραμένει εμφανής, αναδεικνύοντας την υλικότητα και εντάσσοντας το κτίριο στο τοπίο. Υδάτινα στοιχεία και πέργκολες ενσωματώνονται τόσο λειτουργικά όσο και αισθητικά, ενισχύοντας την αίσθηση ηρεμίας στον υπαίθριο χώρο. Η αρχιτεκτονική πρόταση σέβεται τον τοπικό χαρακτήρα και ενσωματώνεται αρμονικά στο φυσικό περιβάλλον, συνθέτοντας μια εξοχική κατοικία που ισορροπεί ανάμεσα στο ιδιωτικό και το ανοιχτό, το παραδοσιακό και το σύγχρονο.
